CHITRANNA (LEMON RICE) WITH RAITA

WHAT YOU NEED:

Rice 2 cups
Mustard seeds 1 tsp
Udad dal 2 tsp
Chana dal 2,3 tsp
Pepper corns 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
 Pea nuts (roasted) 1/2 cup
Grated coconut  1/2 cup
Lemon juice 4,5 tbsp
Curry leaves
Salt
Green chilly 2, finely cut
Red chilly 2, broken.

HOW TO MAKE :
Prepare rice adding salt ( for 2 cups rice add 4 cups water)
Sprinkle 2,3 tsp oil on the rice, mix gently. Rice will not become sticky if  oil is added.
Heat 2,3 tbsp oil in kadahi. when hot put mustard seeds and broken red chilly.
Then add all the ingredients one by one except lemon juice and coconut gratings.
When it is done pour this mixture on the rice and mix well.
In the end put lemon juice and coconut gratings and combine well with rice.
Garnish it with chopped corinadres leaves.
It goes well with raita..

Some call it as poorman's biryani/friend rice.The flavour of lime when added just before serving it tells all the story.
