I always make my children eat vegetables, telling them the nutrition value about any veg they eat...Children hate bitter taste of any veg. ,and my daughter never tasted this vegetable. When i prepared this stuffed karela, I requested her to have a small bite. Believe me she had the whole one without any reluctance... Hope u also love this .....
THIS RECIPE IS ADAPTED FROM JYOTI DAS, ASSAM.
WHAT YOU NEED:
Bittergourd 3 medium size.
Boiled potato 1,
Paneer 50 grms,
Oil 2tbsp,
Finely chopped onion 1,
Chilli powder 1/2 tsp,
Haldi or termeric powder, a little,
Corinader powder 1/2 tsp,
Cumin powder 1/2 tsp ,
Oil for deep frying, salt , then white thread to tie the gourd..
Method : Cut the bittergourd into halves, lengthwise, rub them with salt and little haldi and keep aside for an hour.
Then wash them well, remove the pulp.
Mash the boiled potatoes and paneer well
Heat the oil in a pan, add the oinions and fry till soft., then add chilli powder , corinader powder, cumin powder..also add the the mashed potato and paneer, add salt and stir well for a few mins.
Remove from the fire and stuff the bittergourd with the masala
Place 2 pieces together and make a whole gourd...tieing it with a thread.
Deep fry one at a time on modearate heat...
